What is it?
Oysters have a sea-salty flavour and a succulent texture. You can get them as they are or cook them.
Preparation Options
Oysters can be quite tricky to open, if you are lucky and they are the right shape you can stick a screwdriver in the hinge and pop them open. Otherwise you have to break a bit of shell off the top and wiggle a knife in the gap.
Is it sustainable?
Our oysters are usually farmed, the MCS is assessing the sustainability. However it is probably safe to assume that they are as this farming has a low impact on the environment.
